A Much Needed Weekend Trip

Ed and I went to Macon last weekend for a much needed getaway. Well, actually we were there to celebrate these 2 lovely people!

The Future Mr. and Mrs. John Swain

My friend Emily and I (and our husbands) hosted a Home and Garden Shower for Kacie and John this weekend in Macon. The have been together for over 10 years (WOW!) and are finally getting married. The date is set for September 10, 2011 in Jekyll Island and I cannot wait! Kacie has been my in my life for almost 6 years now, but it feels like I have known her forever. She stood my me while I married my sweetheart and I cannot wait to stand by her as she marries hers.

I met Kacie and Emily in PA School. Would not have survived those 2 years with out these 2 girls. They were my saving grace! :) We always have so much fun together and it was great to celebrate and spend the weekend with them. And it was so nice of Adelyn to show up in this picture and make the 2 of them look so tiny! :)

Emily just recently moved into a new house, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Looks like something out of a magazine! She has such awesome taste and decorating skills. Made me want to redo my whole house. Ed didn't agree! ;) This next picture is of my favorite room in her house. Her formal living room. I just love her style.
We spent the weekend eating lots of good food, hanging out with some really fun people and laughing alot. It was great for us to get away. With all that has happened it the last 2 weeks, and Adelyn's approaching arrival, we needed a good fun weekend. Kacie and John got some really good stuff to start their new life together. Can't wait for the wedding!

When we got home on Sunday, some of our friends got together and planned a Baby Shower/Super Bowl Party for us. It was so nice! We got a lot of much needed neccessities (DIAPERS!!) and some really cute things too. It is so great to have such good friends! :) We really are very blessed! So that was our weekend. Hope yours was as exciting.

A New Normal

We survived this difficult week. Thank you so much to everyone for the visits, calls, prayers, flowers, food, etc. It has been very hard on my husband and his sisters, but all of your sweet gestures made it much easier. So thank you.
We are trying to get back to a sense of normal around here. Hopefully that will happen soon. Today, Ed and I are leaving to go to Macon for the weekend to host a Home and Garden Shower for Kacie and John. Looking forward to a relaxing good time. When we come back on Sunday, some of our closest friends are having a couple's baby shower for us! Very excited about that.
Adelyn is scheduled to make her arrival on February 28th, unless she decides to come sooner. That means we only have a little over 3 weeks. WHOA! Exciting but a little scary! Ready to get my hands on her and start really getting a NEW sense of what our normal will be from now on.
This post has been all over the place. Will try to make it more exciting from now on. I will leave you with a picture of the cutest 8 year old I know....just to liven up the post some! :)

WE HAVE TREES!

Our bare naked yard, that once recently resembled an open field, now looks like an actual yard!! These are pictures from Ed and my daddy's cell phones, but I think they are beautiful!

Now, I just hope they all survive transplant and live! :) Live trees, LIVE!!

Never a Dull Moment

Last night at around 11pm, Mr Ed (Ed's Dad) was taken to the ER for jaw pain and shortness of breath. He had a small heart attack and is now in ICU at CRMC. He is stable and hopefully will be discharged sometime tomorrow if all remains well. He is such a strong man and has been through so much. Please continue to pray for him and his healing.
On a completely different (and lighter) note, we are having some landscaping done on the house today that I am super excited about. I am working, and not there to supervise, but hopefully when I come home, our yard will be transformed. We are having some large (around 30 feet) Live Oak Trees moved into the yard with a HUGE tree spade. I will be sure to post pictures when I get the chance to take some, however I am working all weekend so I won't see any daylight until at least Monday. Look for pictures around then.
I am working a 12 hour day today and the next 2 days, with only about 2.5 hours of sleep last night and 1.5 hours the night before. Pray for me....and my patients. Thanks!

Baby Shower- Jan. 22, 2011

I had a baby shower last Saturday! It was hosted by my sister, SIL, and all of my best friends from throughout my life. Unfortunately, no one reminded me to get a hostess picture. :( It was given by Rene', Megan, Crystal, Jessica, Kacie and Georgette. It was so much fun and I got lots of necessities and really cute clothes for Adelyn! Here are some pics from that day...

Thank you sooooo much to the hostesses and everyone that came! The food was delicious, the company even better! :)

Let's Try This Again!

I'm BACK!! At the not so gentle urging of my favorite red-headed sister-in-law, I decided to give blogging another try. With the fast approaching arrival of our new baby girl, Adelyn, I decided members of her fan club that live far away might could use this as a way to see her little face more often! :) So...here I am.
I will not even begin to try to update you on all that has happened in our lives since my last post! We would be here all day! I will just say that there have been a lot of great additions to our family in just the last few months including this little guy...
Meet Presley James Warfield!! Born November 12, 2010! This precious little bundle belongs to my sister, Rene' and her husband Patrick. He and our baby girl will be the best of friends. Around 15 weeks apart in age, they are going to have so much fun together.

Shortly after his arrival, we got another new family member!

Remember that red headed sister in law I mentioned, this would be her!! Megan married my little brother Zach on December 18, 2010 and officially became a Presley! You should check out her blog to keep up with their new exciting life in Hoover, Alabama!

Next up, we are awaiting the arrival of Adelyn Jules Norman. She is due to arrive sometime around the end of February or first of March! We cannot wait to see her little face in real life, until then....here is a preview to hold you over.

I will do my best to be a more faithful blogger and keep you up to date on our lives! With Megan's gentle reminders, I am sure I will do better than I have been! :)
