Update from the Hospital
I am here. In Labor and Delivery. We checked in last night about 6 pm. It has been a long restless night. Constantly something beeping, someone coming in, having to pee from all this fluid they are giving me. It was a LONG night. Have been having some regular contractions, but nothing too painful. I imagine this is only the beginning. They are supposed to start the pitocin at 6 am...its 5:55 am now. So anytime now. Rene' will be keeping facebook updated throughout the day today, so watch for that. I will be back with pics of our baby girl as soon as possible! Prayers are appreciated today!

No Progress! :(
Well, I went to the doctor today. No progress. Exactly the same as last week. I did lose a pound, which was the only good news at the doctor. One less pound I have to lose after Monday. :) My blood pressure was higher than they wanted it to be, so no more work for me. :( I was supposed to work tomorrow and Thursday. I feel like I left them high and dry, which I absolutely HATE! It is weird to think that I won't go back there for almost 7 weeks. I will miss those people...most of them anyway. ;)
So, I am convinced that Adelyn is in there for the long haul. She ain't coming out til they make her...the pitocin that is. :) She must be nice and cozy in there...which I suppose is a good thing. I am trying not to be impatient, and to enjoy my last few days of rest and freedom, but 2 people that were due around the same time as me had babies yesterday and today (Congrats Savannah and Mandy) and that makes me ready for my turn! :)
Oh well, wait is all we can do! And ride through plowed fields, eat spicy food, jumping jacks, etc, etc. However I am not yet desperate enough for Castor Oil...and don't ever think I will be.

Auburn Fan Live Oak Fan
If you know me, you know I am not a fan of Auburn. Never have been. Especially this year. I think Cam Newton is a lying, cheating, crook. I think he should not have been allowed to play. But as much as he disgusts me, This disgusts me even more!
If you know me or my husband very well, you know of our LOVE of Live Oak Trees. We just had some 30 foot ones transplanted into our yard, and my husband babies them like his children. If you ride in the truck with us for any amount of time, you will surely hear one of us point out a beautiful Live Oak and say, "Ours will look like that....when we are DEAD!" So, the thought of anyone INTENTIONALLY killing 130 year old trees makes me sick. Very very sad! Its football people....give me a break!

On our wedding day, September 29, 2007
I met Ed in May of 2003 when I started working at MRS Homecare while in school at VSU. Of course, with this being Moultrie, I knew OF him my whole life. My mom works with his sister, he went to school with my sister, etc. But, we officially met in 2003. We worked together for a while before we started dating. It took us a while for us to figure out that we were meant to be together, him a little longer than me! ;) We officially started dating in September of 2004. We got engaged in December of 2006 and married in September of 2007. I could go on and on about all the things I love about him, but here are a few.
1. He is such a great father! To Shelby and I know he will be to Adelyn when she gets here!

2. He makes me laugh...all the time! He is a super funny guy, although not all people see the silly side of him. He sings silly songs, all the time. Ones he makes up, usually about hunting. Especially in the morning time, which I don't always love when I am sleeping, but it is pretty endearing!
Christmas Day 2010
3. He is passionate! About a lot of things...but especially hunting! Now, most wives would not list this as something that they love about their husband. But really, I do. I love how much he loves it! I love that he is so dedicated to it! Ed and I have a very relaxed relationship. We do not over-regulate each other! He does his thing, I do mine. I love that! I mean, don't get me wrong, we love to spend time together, but we like our seperate time too! It works for us! Good thing...cause this boy LOVES to hunt!

4. I may be baised on this one, but I think he is one of the most handsome men EVER! He has these green eyes that just blow me away. I have said many times, I really hope Adelyn looks like me...but gets her Daddy's green eyes!
Royal Caribbean Feb 2010
5. He is a family man! I love that he loves his family so much. He has always been close with both of his parents, works with his mother, talks to his sister, Laura, almost daily. He loves his nieces and nephews. He loves my family like they are his own! When his Dad got sick, he was so great to him. Picked up all of his responsibilities and held this farm together like a pro, all while still working his full time job and taking care of us as well. I am so proud to call him my husband!

So, thats my Valentine! Wonderful man that he is! Thank you darling, for being you, and for being mine! I love you!

A Much Needed Weekend Trip
Ed and I went to Macon last weekend for a much needed getaway. Well, actually we were there to celebrate these 2 lovely people!
The Future Mr. and Mrs. John Swain
My friend Emily and I (and our husbands) hosted a Home and Garden Shower for Kacie and John this weekend in Macon. The have been together for over 10 years (WOW!) and are finally getting married. The date is set for September 10, 2011 in Jekyll Island and I cannot wait! Kacie has been my in my life for almost 6 years now, but it feels like I have known her forever. She stood my me while I married my sweetheart and I cannot wait to stand by her as she marries hers.
I met Kacie and Emily in PA School. Would not have survived those 2 years with out these 2 girls. They were my saving grace! :) We always have so much fun together and it was great to celebrate and spend the weekend with them. And it was so nice of Adelyn to show up in this picture and make the 2 of them look so tiny! :)
Emily just recently moved into a new house, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Looks like something out of a magazine! She has such awesome taste and decorating skills. Made me want to redo my whole house. Ed didn't agree! ;) This next picture is of my favorite room in her house. Her formal living room. I just love her style.
We spent the weekend eating lots of good food, hanging out with some really fun people and laughing alot. It was great for us to get away. With all that has happened it the last 2 weeks, and Adelyn's approaching arrival, we needed a good fun weekend. Kacie and John got some really good stuff to start their new life together. Can't wait for the wedding!
When we got home on Sunday, some of our friends got together and planned a Baby Shower/Super Bowl Party for us. It was so nice! We got a lot of much needed neccessities (DIAPERS!!) and some really cute things too. It is so great to have such good friends! :) We really are very blessed! So that was our weekend. Hope yours was as exciting.

A New Normal
We survived this difficult week. Thank you so much to everyone for the visits, calls, prayers, flowers, food, etc. It has been very hard on my husband and his sisters, but all of your sweet gestures made it much easier. So thank you.
We are trying to get back to a sense of normal around here. Hopefully that will happen soon. Today, Ed and I are leaving to go to Macon for the weekend to host a Home and Garden Shower for Kacie and John. Looking forward to a relaxing good time. When we come back on Sunday, some of our closest friends are having a couple's baby shower for us! Very excited about that.
Adelyn is scheduled to make her arrival on February 28th, unless she decides to come sooner. That means we only have a little over 3 weeks. WHOA! Exciting but a little scary! Ready to get my hands on her and start really getting a NEW sense of what our normal will be from now on.
This post has been all over the place. Will try to make it more exciting from now on. I will leave you with a picture of the cutest 8 year old I know....just to liven up the post some! :)
